President, Laurie Hunter

"I have lived in this region of Colorado for the last 25 years and have a passion for gardening and eating good, fresh food. I have a growing family with 3 children whom I strive to feed organic real food. In the past years I have directed a local Preschool, run children programs and I am currently managing a hotel here in Norwood. My family also owns and operates a landscaping business servicing the region. We all love being outdoors and getting our hands dirty!"


Vice President, Aja moved away but we would liketo present our new board member Kayla Dorion

Kayla has lived in Norwood for two years and is a mother. She crafts quality body care products (also sold at the hub) and values quality food and community. She has skills computur design and marketing and plans to share her talents with the program. 

Secretary, Leila Seraphin 

"I have lived in Norwood for 2 years and bought property in town July 2014  to work on a collectivized bike space/make space and systemic permaculture project. I have experience in grassroots organizing, direct action, and supporting community programs (primarily in Oakland CA my hometown) for over 10 years. I'm on the Board of ACE of Norwood and the Norwood Community Garden. I strongly believe the foundation of a healthy community lies in creating systems and programs that support self sufficiency and collectivized interactions. Although I am new to town im ready to be a part of this community."

Treasurer, Sara Owens

"I have lived in Norwood Colorado for over 10 years. Im very interested in food as it pertains to our health, with a strong belief that food can heal our bodies the same as medication. I am an active board member at the Uncompaghre Medical Center and plan to be a supportive board member for Norwood's Local Food Co-op, The FRESH Food Hub. As a local business owner I understand the importance of supporting our local economy and embracing our local agriculture."

Director, Melanie Eggers

"Guided by a former career in marketing, I freelance for various businesses including Ryder Walker Alpine Adventures in Telluride where I previously was the managing as director for four years. I designed websites for The Bin and Indian Ridge Granola, two local companies. In my spare time, I received a Holistic Nutrition certificate from the Bauman College of Nutrition and Culinary Studies out of Berkeley, CA. I lived in Telluride for more than 15 years and moved to Norwood three years ago to plant a garden, cook and eat local, seasonal organic food, and spend a quieter farm life with her husband Eric Johannson and son Mato. When Im not chasing after Mato, I jet off to Italy for a macchiato, some climbing and lots of trip planning for clients."
