Rockfield Place

Since moving to Nucla in 2000, sustainability had been our goal. The Rockfield Place, which sits above the San Miguel River, employs organic growing methods for all crops, including pastureland. We drip irrigate our produce and trees and the farm is powered by our micro-hydroelectric system. Our orchards containing 200+ fruit trees including tart cherries, apricots, plums, apples and peaches, also raspberries and blackberries. We added a high tunnel to extend the vegetable growing season. Louise makes jams, juice and dried fruits for market. Terry has become an avid beekeeper, producing quality raw honey. The farm also raises alfalfa hay and provides winter pasture for area cattle.
